Warrenpoint Pier - April 2018
ZIG ZAG is now back from Carlingford Marina, ready for the 2018 sailing season, and back on its mooring at Warrenpoint. Also, 'Birdy' is safely moored and ready to chase the abundant Tope of Carlingford lough.
As can be seen, the pier at Warrenpoint is now being hugged to death, with some boats moored semi-permanently, one even CHAINED to the pier.....this makes it very difficult to pick up and drop off for other boats and their users.
Currently the Warrenpoint-Omeath ferry cannot access the pier at all.
However, the 'huggers' provide excellent opportunities and a magnet for the local tearaways to try their hand at unauthorised boating, remove and vandalise gear, and break in to boats....just like last year.
